VietNamNet Bridge – The Golden Album awards ceremony will be held at the Hoa Binh Theatre in HCM City on November 12. The ceremony promises to not only be a night honouring the best albums of Vietnamese singers but also a get-together of top music stars.
The Golden Album selection was launched by the HCM City Television (HTV) early this year. Each month a show is held to introduce best albums of the month. After 11 shows, the awards ceremony will come this Sunday.
The Golden Album selection mirrors a new trend in the music world today, when the taste of audiences and music experts are not so different: some albums have been voted for by both the listeners and the jury, for example Losing You by singer Dam Vinh Hung (May 2007) and Boy Doll by Thanh Thao (August 2007).
At the upcoming ceremony, HCM City audiences will again see famous singers who have had close relations with Golden Album shows this year, such as Thanh Lam, Lam Truong, Thanh Thao, Ho Quynh Huong, Ho Ngoc Ha, Thu Minh, Phuong Uyen, Nguyen Vu, Anh Khoa and May Trang group.
Nineteen albums nominated for the Golden Album award will also be displayed at the ceremony.
The ceremony will be aired live at 20.15 on HTV7 and some provincial TV channels.
