Muong ethnic cultural festival to be held in Hoa Binh

VietNamNet Bridge - The Muong ethnic cultural festival will take place in the northern mountainous province of Hoa Binh from December 9th to 12th to preserve and promote the cultural identity of the Muong ethnic group during national renewal and integration.

The festival will draw the participation of 9 provinces where Muong ethnic people live.

It will include art performances, a beauty contest for Muong ethnic women, a fair, an exhibition, traditional festivals, folk games, gastronomy culture, and a seminar to preserve and promote the Muong ethnic culture.

The festival is aimed at glorifying Muong ethnic culture in Vietnamese culture of 54 ethnic groups; promoting cultural exchanges and publicizing the cultural lifestyle of the community of Muong ethic people; and popularizing the changes and development of the Muong ethnic group in Vietnam in general and in Hoa Binh province in particular.

It is also an opportunity for the Muong ethnic people from other provinces to go to the land of their origin and the cradle of Hoa Binh culture.
